Diet Culture in Yoga
Diet culture is so insidious that we often don’t even realise we’re swimming in it.
Dr Lauren Tober (she/her) is joined by Fiona Sutherland (she/her) from The Mindful Dietician to talk about how diet culture sneaks its way into yoga spaces.
Fiona is a Dietitian, a podcast host, mindfulness practitioner, and Yoga Teacher, with more than 20 years working in the areas of eating disorders, body image, and sports nutrition. Fiona is committed to weight inclusive and Trauma-Informed approaches in the service of disrupting dominant “health” and body narratives, integrating these into clinical work, supervision, and training with Dietitians and health professionals.
Fiona will also be joining us for the next Mental Health and Yoga Summit, starting on the 29th of August 2022, talking more about body image and yoga.
The Summit is for Yoga Teachers who are interested in mental health and Mental Health professionals who are interested in yoga, and we do hope you can join us.

MEET OUR FOUNDER
Hi, I'm Dr Lauren Tober!
As a Clinical Psychologist and Yoga Teacher of nearly two decades and the author of Mental Health Aware Yoga: A Guide for Yoga Teachers, I'm passionate about integrating yoga and psychology on the mat, in the counselling room and in the world.
With the growing interest in mental health and yoga, yoga students are attending yoga classes for the mental health benefits in unprecedented numbers.
In fact, 79.4% of yoga students report practicing yoga for the mental health benefits.
It's important that Yoga Teachers know how to support them.
I'm glad you're here.
