Yoga Teaching, Therapy and Boundaries

Today we have a great question from Rachana, who asks:

“Yoga plays an important part in healing and goes beyond talk therapy and we focus on the present & meditation, but we find students wanting to share outside of the space and it becomes informal therapy. How do we hold space for them with boundaries?”

Listen in as Dr Lauren Tober explores the role of yoga and talk therapy, boundaries and scope of practice.

You’ll also learn some very practical tools on what to do when students talk to you about their challenges, so you can honour their needs AND stay within your scope of practice.

MEET OUR FOUNDER

Hi, I'm Dr Lauren Tober!

As a Clinical Psychologist and Yoga Teacher of nearly two decades and the author of Mental Health Aware Yoga: A Guide for Yoga Teachers, I'm passionate about integrating yoga and psychology on the mat, in the counselling room and in the world.

With the growing interest in mental health and yoga, yoga students are attending yoga classes for the mental health benefits in unprecedented numbers.

In fact, 79.4% of yoga students report practicing yoga for the mental health benefits.

It's important that Yoga Teachers know how to support them.

I'm glad you're here.
