How Much Yoga Should I Do?
In today’s video episode we’re welcoming researcher Jacinta Brinsley, to share with us what her research tells us about the dosage effect of yoga on our mental health; just how much yoga do we actually need to do to have a positive effect on our mental health?
Jacinta (she/her) has dedicated the past 9 years to studying the human body, how it moves, yoga as a movement practice, and how movement and mental health are intricately connected.
Jacinta utilises her clinical background in exercise physiology to prescribe yoga-based practices informed by pain science, neuroscience and biomechanical principles to target changes in people’s mood, mental health, quality of life and functional capacity. Jacinta has worked with hundreds of people, with a range of health conditions from cardiovascular disease to multiple sclerosis, using movement as medicine.
Jacinta is one of the amazing speakers who is joining us on the Mental Health and Yoga summit, starting on 31st of January 2022.
At the Summit we’ll be diving deeply into the world of yoga and mental health, and Jacinta will be sharing some of her research with us, including data from her yet-to-be published paper.
So if you’re a yoga teacher or mental health professional interested in yoga and mental health, I wholeheartedly invite you to join us.
