Yoga and Diabetes
Dr Lauren Tober is joined by Rachel Zinman in today’s video episode to talk about yoga and diabetes.
Living with diabetes can be hard, so listen in to hear what we can do, as Yoga Teachers, to really support our students to feel safe and supported in our classes.
Rachel (she/her) has been practicing yoga since 1983, teaching since 1992 and teaching teachers since 2000. She has studied with some of the most influential teachers in the west including Alan Finger and Mark Whitwell as well as immersing herself in the study of Vedanta.
She is also a graduate of the Mental Health Aware Yoga training!
Rachel is the Author of the wonderful book, Yoga for Diabetes: How to Manage your Health with Yoga and Ayurveda. And she writes for many online and in print magazines including Australian Yoga Journal and Australian Yoga Life.
We’ve very excited to have Rachel speaking in more depth on the topic of yoga and diabetes at the Mental Health and Yoga summit, starting on 31st of January 2022.
We’re going to be diving deeply in the world of yoga and mental health, so if you’re a yoga teacher or mental health professional interested in this world, I wholeheartedly invite you to join us.

With the growing interest in mental health and yoga, yoga students are attending yoga classes for the mental health benefits in unprecedented numbers.
In fact, 79.4% of yoga students report practicing yoga for the mental health benefits.
It's important that Yoga Teachers know how to support them.
